Advanced Beadmaking Class with Lydia Muell

Intricate and Multi-Dimensional Bead Designs with Metallic Glass

Intermediate to advanced lampworking skills required

This advanced bead making workshop will focus on using 104 COE metallic glass and dichroic to achieve intricate and multi dimensional designs.

Day 1:  During day one of the workshop, students will learn how to use a variety of metallic glass as the base glass and for basic layering and how to obtain the best results with most silver glass. The base glass session, will be followed by instruction for making goldstone and black striped twisted cane and how to apply it to designs to achieve definition between layers of glass.  Using layers and lenses as design elements in your bead.

Day 2:  Precision dot placement, “raking” and marvering will be of heavy focus on day two. Tips and tricks for recovering from common mistakes will be demonstrated and discussed at the end of day two.

Please note that this class requires a minimum of 4 students to go forward but is limited to 6 students.

Please wear long sleeve cotton shirt as well as jeans or other long pants and closed shoes (tennis shoes are okay) to your class.  If you have long hair, please bring something to tie it back away and out of your face.
